There is probably no other tank that arouses so much curiosity. An aura of mystery surrounds it, and the facts mix with the legends that have grown over the years. The Panzerkampfwagen VIII "MAUS" is a prototype of a German super-heavy tank from World War II. It was the heaviest and largest tank ever built. It weighed about 188 tons! The project was carried out in 1942-1944. Only two incomplete prototypes were built and never entered service. In April 1945, the Red Army captured both abandoned Maus prototypes that were located at the Kummersdorf military training area. They were assembled into one vehicle with the hull of the first prototype and the turret of the second. This hybrid is still one of the main attractions of the tank museum in Kubinka near Moscow.
Panzer VIII "MAUS" is a very special model in the COBI collection! It was built from the start in 1:28 scale and is 39 cm long. Removable covers on the turret and hull give you access to the detailed interior. Removable engine, opening hatches, movable barrel, working chain traction are other advantages of this set. The tank presented as part of its assembly at the factory was covered with high-quality prints that will not wear out even with intensive use.
"MAUS" is a must for lovers of history, armor and mysteries of the Second World War. The beautiful and huge model will perfectly complement the collection of tanks and will become its main element. Assembly is easy thanks to the intuitive instructions, but due to the unique layout with the inner workings, variety of elements and the time required to build the set, we recommend the model to older builders.
